Drug abuse is the repeated use of illegal drugs or the mis-use of legal drugs to produce a feeling of pleasure, alter reality, or de-stress. Drug abuse effects the the mental and physical well-being of the drug users. Prolonged drug abuse has perminate physical and mental damage to a persons body, brain, and all aspects of a person's life. Drug abuse does not only effect the user but everybody and everything the user comes in contact with.

Drugs give users a short feeling of happiness, joy and euphoria. A feeling of being "spaced out". This "high" lasts for a certain period and then wears away.
