Addiction
Defining addiction is challenging. If you ask ten different individuals for a definition of addiction chances are good that you will get ten different answers.
Generally speaking addiction is a complex problem that not only effects the mind and body of the addict but also their families, loved ones, and social environment. Addiction effects everyone and everything around the addict. Addiction to a drug or substance takes over the life of the individual and those around them, for an addict there is no life outside or seperate from the all-consuming need for the drug or substance.
Often the addict will deny a problem with the addiction, unfortunalty help is not wanted or needed until the addict has reached "rock bottom" or can no longer deny that help for the addiction is needed.
